The ideal first AI project has these characteristics:
- High volume — the task happens frequently enough that automation creates meaningful time savings
- Rule-based with exceptions — mostly predictable, but with enough variation that pure rules are not sufficient
- Low risk — errors are correctable, not catastrophic
- Clear data — the information needed to make decisions already exists in a structured format
Phase 2: Prove Value
Deploy the solution, measure the impact against your baseline metrics, and document the results. This is where you build the organizational case for AI.
